ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Victor Vedoy is a woodwind specialist who received his Bachelor's degree in Saxophone performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from California State University Long Beach studying under sessions musicians Sal Lozano, Jay Mason and Keith Fiddmont from Santa Monica College.
Though a jazz saxophone major, he has studied the classical repertoire for flute, clarinet and saxophone and has used this knowledge in his 10+ years of private teaching. He received a Board Certified Autism Technician certificate while working with children, teens, and young adults with autism and currently works as a music instructor for adults with mental disabilities. This background has helped him learn to teach with more patience and different methods for every student he teaches, catering to their needs and abilities as well as pace.
He has been conductor for the Francisco Bravo Medical Latin Jazz band taking home 1st place trophies from Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz Jazz festivals 7 years in a row. Victor regularly gigs with reggae and ska bands throughout the Long Beach area.
