Giovanna Mera is a graduate of California State University of Fullerton with a degree in Classical Guitar Performance. She was taught by two members of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, two Grand winners of the Guitar Foundation of America, and four University State of California Classical Guitar Alumni, and is a participant of the Masterclass with the Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist and composer Andrew York. For the city of Lawndale, Giovanna taught music to Middle-School and Elementary students for both the Guitar Orchestra and Marching Band. 

Working with her students, Giovanna loves to take an assessment-based learning approach versus that of evaluation based. This allows her to customize her teaching while considering and respecting the different possible ways in which a student learns. She loves to encourage, mentor, and create an edifying environment that's welcoming for her students to feel the freedom to, alongside her guidance, cultivate a passion for music.
